The International Fashion Showcase runs throughout February in venues across London. The first exhibition to open its doors to the public is the Austrian showcase Another Austria at the Austrian Cultural Forum which features designers, fashion photographers and illustrators. Alongside the exhibition there is an exciting programme events including Talking Fashion, a panel discussion featuring Marios Schwab and Stefan Siegel, Co-Founder of Not Just a Label and during London Fashion Week (15-19 February) the ACF London will be transformed into a Vienesse Coffee House.
The ACF London is showcasing the edgy and innovative designs Austria produces, focussing on both London and Austria-based fashion designers. The context is set with a photo-exhibition, presenting new works especially created for the event, and offering a unique angle on the Austrian fashion scene. The exhibition, initiated by AUSTRIANFASHION. NET, is curated by the fashion designer and publisher Claudia Rosa Lukas.
The exhibition features the work of six emerging fashion designers alongisde fashion photographers, illustrators and artists.

Tuesday 5 February, 7 pm
Chaired by Julian Roberts (designer, film-maker and British Council Fashion Adviser), a panel of designers, including London fashion icon Marios Schwab, artist Kris Hoffmann, and NOT JUST A LABEL co-founder Stefan Siegel, among others, will discuss the creative spirit of fashion beyond the boundaries of established disciplines.
Thursday 7 February, 7 pm
Emilie Flöge was Gustav Klimt’s lifelong companion and inspiration. Their symbiosis of art and haute couture produced beautiful paintings and beautiful dresses; however, the dresses, though pioneering the new style, were not worn in public. Warburg Institute historian Dorothea McEwan presents an evening of dress design and personal messages.
A Viennese Café Open House Weekend
Friday 15 – Monday 18 February
This is a unique opportunity to experience a taste of Austrian culture. In conjunction with the exhibition Another Austria the collections of six emerging contemporary Vienna & London-based designers will be presented within the unique setting of a Viennese coffee house hosted by London’s Kipferl café. Guided tours of the exhibition will take place each day at 3 pm and on appointment. Join us for a slice of Vienna!

In conjunction with the exhibition Austrian writer Gabriele Petricek, who trained as a fashion designer, will explore the Austrian fashion scene through a multimedia literary performance.

Tuesday 26 February, 7.30 pm
Monica Titton, sociologist at the University of Vienna, will discuss the production of the everyday aesthetic as shown on street style blogs. Reconstructing the history of street photography in fashion, Titton analyses which techniques are employed to convey the impression that on these blogs we are presented a ‘democratised’, authentic account of contemporary fashion.
