We are so excited to announce that the  International Fashion Showcase 2013 Emerging Talent Award went to Estonia!

In the midst of all the London Fashion Week action, the BFC Showspace at Somerset House played host to the Emerging Talent Award Ceremony. With all of the freshest new talent from around the globe coming out in force there was a great sense of unity and support for everyone. Not only were all of the IFS exhibiting designers, curators and even some Ambassadors in attendance there was also some big names from the fashion press, stylists, buyers and scouts who had all come to show their encouragement.

Presenting the award to the worthy winners was infamous fashion critic and Ambassador for Emerging Talent Sarah Mower MBE. As the perfect advocate for these young designers she was keen to express the importance of supporting talent, saying in her speech that it doesn’t matter where you are from or what your social upbringing is like, “talent comes from the individual” and it can come from anyone.

All of the speakers expressed the feeling that most people appear to have about the showcase – that it is such a great opportunity to bring all of these nations together. Fashion can create a language that can transcend cultural barriers and build on foreign relationships. It is important to bring everyone together, not only so that they can meet each other but also to give everyone a better understanding of how the industry works in other areas of the world.
